We want to dedicate the first article of the news section to the presentation of our company: the mechanical technical firm Trippa e Longhi has been present in the mechanical design scene in Bologna for over fifty years.
Bologna can boast itself of being one of the main Italian excellence in the mechanical design sector: it continues to be one of the most active in the economy and offers many opportunities for work. A reputation and a fortune built with years of experience in this area, a serious method of work and attention to detail, but above all a great passion in carrying out own work and a great confidence in future projects. Therefore experience, competence, passion and trust: these are the characteristics that best describe the spirit of our design firm.
Founded in 1963 by Giorgio Trippa and Eligio Longhi, the Trippa e Longhi company was immediately able to get involved and stand out in the panorama of mechanical design of those years. To mention some of our most significant successes, we collaborated with Fiat Trattori in Modena, Alfa Romeo and Lancia in the design of equipment for mechanical work; with Wrapmatic we collaborated in the design of the large reams machine, sold in more than 600 copies; moreover, we designed one of the first machines to insert a capsule into the cigarette filter to flavor it with menthol for Sasib Tabacco; in the 80s another lasting collaboration began with Corazza, which led to the creation of many successful machines … We could also add collaborations with Calzoni, Dugomrulli, Milpass, and many others. Trippa e Longhi more and more consolidated its skills and conquered a respectable place in its sector, becoming part of those companies which in their small way helped building the history and fame of mechanics in Bologna.
But we don’t neglect the last two keywords, last but not least, because they allow our company, which is already solid thanks to its past, to project itself into the future and to give it continuity and a strong character: passion and trust.
Passion because as we are a small company our designers work in a familiar and positive environment, which encourages them in participating with rapture to the design and in feeling involved in our plans for the future. To demonstrate it there’s the fact that the office has always been guided by owners who have previously worked as draftsmen: the lords Trippa and Longhi passed the baton to Renzo Rabbi, Gerardo Cernera, Giovanni Piccaglia and Roberto Roffi and now it’s our turn, Enrico Scorzoni and Marco Cernera.
And here we’re already talking about trust: because, thanks to this great involvement, our desire to remodel and constantly update ourseves has never failed, carried out by each generation of owners. Exactly for this reason the firm gives importance to young people and promotes them by offering itself as a training place for students and new graduates from I.I.S. Belluzzi Fioravanti, I.T.I. Aldini Valeriani and other local technical and mechanical institutes.
This winning combination of continuity and innovation has allowed the company to continue and increase its affirmation in the panorama of mechanical design, until today. Among the most recent collaborations of greatest satisfaction, we mention the years of collaboration with Carpigiani, famous all over the world for its ice-cream machines, Calzoni, with which we designed a single-wing wind turbine, and Arcotronics, with which we designed an innovative plastic film metallizer for very large coils, but also Cognetex and Tecma.
From this portrait emerges a competitive firm able to accommodate all the challenges proposed by customers, thanks to its experience in the field and the continuous updating.
